Tim Lenderking will be named as an envoy for Yemen by the United States and the official announcement will take place with the next address made by US President Joe Biden. Linderking is a career US diplomat and a former Gulf affairs deputy assistant. The senior US diplomat is known for his stable disposition and his soft-spoken demeanor. Due to his vast background in the Middle East area going back to 1993, he has reportedly been selected for the role. He will be Yemen’s first U.S. ambassador after the U.S. went to war in 2014.

The UAE Minister for International Affairs also welcomed the decision in a tweet following the announcement saying, “Congratulations to Timothy Lenderking on his appointment by @POTUS as Special Envoy for Yemen. Tim’s expertise and US engagement will bring new and needed energy and focus to help resolve the conflict and improve stability across the region.”

He outlined the UAE’s concern about the situation in Yemen and how it was trying to change the conditions through the tweet. The Emirati nation has been providing all the assistance needed to restore the war-torn nation over the years and has also provided humanitarian relief to the region.

The Emirates Red Crescent organisation of the UAE has been sending humanitarian assistance, including food packages and medical supplies, time and again. With this declaration, the United States has agreed to take action against Yemen and with the efforts of both nations in the same direction as seeking stability, the goal seems not difficult to accomplish. The foreign minister also indicated that in October last year the UAE has always been eager to see the end of the war and therefore backed out of the region. He also noted that the UAE was the main source of humanitarian aid in the crisis.

“The UAE ended its military involvement in Yemen in October of last year. Eager to see the war over, the UAE has supported UN efforts & multiple peace initiatives. Throughout the UAE has remained one of the largest providers of humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people,” he tweeted.

The UAE has also been one of the biggest proponents
of terroism, in addition to supplying support services to Yemen.
It has taken every step to ensure that it minimizes the existence of violent elements. Although the United National and other foreign facilities agreed to monitor Al Houthi’s activities in the region, one of the first to accept the call was the UAE.

The gulf nation also maintains that in Yemen, recovery steps are also taken.
Rebuilding schools, hospitals, especially emergency health facilities. It ensured that the situation in the country was in check and secure until the UAE completely left the country. After its departure, the UAE has worked in tandem with international bodies to ensure stability in the region.
