Yemen is going through the worst humanitarian catastrophe in mankind’s history, and it is critically dependent on the support it can give other nations. The United Arab Emirates has been leading the mission by supplying the requisite support to help Yemenis to save them from the crisis.

The UAE again came forward on Monday to assist the starving Yemini community who would otherwise have fallen ill due to days of hunger. In Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, the
nation expanded its humanitarian activity to save people from famine.

The move came to light when a government official revealed that the operations of the UAE cater to the thousands of families affected by poverty in the war-torn country. Furthermore, the official, who requested anonymity in exchange of information, added that assistance is also being provided to internally displaced persons in Hodeidah’s many different war-ravaged areas.

He also stressed on the various campaigns carried out by the
Emirates Red Crescent in line with helping the civilians in Yemen.
With the rebel groups having a strong presence, they have been continuously distributing the necessary aid to help the needy in the midst of the ongoing crisis in the country.

In addition to contributions to the displacement camps, poor
families in the country received more than 3,200 food parcels.
The UAE is now part of a coalition led by Saudi Arabia, which has been fighting against the country’s Iranian-backed Houthi rebel group.

Yemenis are grateful for the help the UAE has given to those who need it and hope that their humanitarian operations will continue or that the children of these poorer families will die of hunger. A Yemeni citizen named Khaled Hayal also shared their emotions.

He said, “We are grateful for the UAE’s efforts that are still standing beside us and the displaced people here in Hodeidah receive food and necessary medical supplies.”
