UAE-Dubai: Free Breast Cancer Screening!
As part of its goal to promote early diagnosis and prevention of breast cancer, Zulekha Hospital’s ‘Pink It Now’ initiative has launched free screening before the end of October. The campaign has attracted over 13,000 women over the last nine years to attend free screenings and consultations at its hospitals to date. In the eyes of men who could already be diagnosed with breast cancer, it also continues to lift the taboo.
We should not neglect our non-covid health problems in these days when we are busy and dealing with the pandemic and its effects on our lives, which may project a higher risk for our bodies at a later point. Providing access to these health checks that have made a difference to life is necessary and important for us. This year, we are raising awareness of this awful disease with our ‘Pink it Now’ campaign and educating the masses on the value of regular tests,’ said co-chair Zanubia Shams.
I urge women and men to carry out these tests and to keep an eye on their health. By adhering to infection control procedures, we have assured the absolute protection of our patrons and workers to deter any transmission of pathogens. The group’s cancer support group ‘Pink Knights’ comprising of male breast cancer patients will also hold an online webinar and share their experiences throughout the month with the requisite social distance and hygiene steps, one can easily visit the hospital. In addition to free X-ray mammograms and appointments with general physicians, oncologists and gynaecologists, if recommended by physicians, the hospital offers a 50 percent discount on diagnostic testing.
