On the occasion of the 49th National Day, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stressed that the UAE is a model of unity between siblings united under the Union Flag to secure the greatest amount of good for their people. In a statement to ‘Nation Shield,’ the UAE Armed Forces magazine, on the occasion of the UAE’s 49th National Day, Sheikh Saud said: “Today, we celebrate the 49th anniversary of the establishment of the Union, which was founded upon the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers, the founders of the Union, who achieved a distinguished success based on investing in people, making the UAE a centre of prosperity and growth in the region and a commendable example for social welfare and economic well-being.”

By protecting our human, social and economic capabilities and making every possible effort to achieve overall growth and prosperity, the UAE is advancing boldly to secure its proper position among advanced nations. “We are proud of our milestones, and we are motivated to achieve greater success by the Spirit of the Union.” he added.

In line with the celebration of the 49th National Day of the Emirates, authorities have repeated appeals, including banning family meetings, to follow COVID-19 related precautions when marking the 49th National Day.

The new call came in a Sunday night tweet by the Dubai Media Office, advising UAE civilians and residents to prevent large family gatherings (limiting the number of people at home to 20) and crowded places; and to comply with official precautionary steps on health and safety at all times, such as wearing masks and social distance.
