The United Arab Emirates really is the core of humanitarian responses. Since the devastating flood that hit Sudan they have immediately sent tons of relief aids to help Sudanese heal and get back on their knees. The UAE never fails to give out a helping hand to their neighboring nations.

The UAE shows wholehearted empathy and unity with Sudan. UAE sends a flight of 100 tons of relief supplies to be shipped to assist flood victims in Sudan. After the flood waters and heavy rains, which killed over 100 people and inundated over 100,000 homes, the UAE has expressed its full support and solidarity with Sudan. The Dubai ruler ordered a flight of 100 tons of aid supplies to be sent to UNHCR warehouses in Dubai ‘s International Humanitarian Area, to help the victims of the floods that affected different parts of Sudan and South Sudan. The Sudanese Minister of Labor and Social Welfare said the floods had affected more than half a million people, injuring 46, and destroying more than 100,000 houses, in addition to the deaths. Most of the flooding was prompted by intense seasonal rainfall, mostly in neighboring Ethiopia, which at the end of August caused the Nile River to rise to nearly 17.5 meters (about 57 ft) — the highest level in 100 years, according to the authorities. Sheik Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler ‘s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Emirates Red Crescent Chairman, ERC, has requested immediate humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the floods raging through Sudan. The assistance provides food and medicine to areas impacted by the natural catastrophe, the deadliest to reach the world in over 100 years. The ERC is also implementing an immediate relief package to address the food, health facilities and shelter needs of the locals as well as environmental sanitation.

We pray for the healing of the land of Sudan.
