According to top officials, the UAE has sent 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs, and other medical supplies to India, which is battling a new wave of Covid-19 infections. Medical oxygen is in short supply in India. As a result, breathing aids such as ventilators and bilevel positive airway pressure systems are ideal Covid-19 relief supplies. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ official spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, thanked the UAE for the “gift.” “We will continue to build on our humid, close, and multi-faceted relationships. Thank you to our UAE friend for the gift of 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs, and other medical supplies,” the spokesperson said in a tweet.

“India and the UAE continue their close cooperation in the joint battle against Covid-19,” the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said. We are thankful to the UAE government for providing us with timely and valuable medical supplies.” Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that the UAE is willing to devote all resources to help the Indian government’s efforts to address this unprecedented crisis. Independently, India has purchased 18 empty cryogenic tanks from the UAE and expects to receive more next week, bolstering life-saving gas supply chains. Adani Group, an Indian conglomerate, has acquired empty oxygen tanks from Dubai-based Caley Energy.
