The authorities have announced that the first Hebrew language institute will open next year in the UAE to teach Hebrew classes, Israeli culture and cuisine to Emiratis, businessmen and citizens living in the Emirates.

The Educational Hebrew Institute (EHI) will open its classes with branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on January 3, 2021. This follows the tremendous demand for learning the Hebrew language shown by Emiratis and UAE companies doing business with Israeli entrepreneurs, officials said.

The new Israel-UAE peace agreement has raised interest in awareness and education based on the Hebrew language. EHI Director Josh Samet told the Khaleej Times that the institute will teach not only the Hebrew language, but also facts related to Israeli culture, local Israeli cuisine, how to do business with Israelis, etc. To carry out company preparation, the best Hebrew teachers from Israel will be brought over to the UAE. In Dubai, four educational branches have already been set up and two are coming up soon in Abu Dhabi. Classes will start from January at all branches, Samet said, adding that several businessmen have already begun registering for the Hebrew course.

Samet noted that the successful opening of these educational centers across the UAE has created positive conditions, including positive business prospects and increased traffic and tourism for both countries.

The EHI was created in 2020 by educators united by one vision: to teach students, with fun and engaging methods, the conversational skills of the spoken Hebrew language in the most up-to-date way. The EHI promises to give every person who wishes to learn and share exceptional resources.
