The Emirates Launches “Thank You Everyday Heroes” For Our Front Line Workers!
The UAE has taken all in step as the nation and the rest of the planet battle the global pandemic, from medical practitioners making the hardest life decisions to save lives while risking their own, to health staff ensuring the country’s well-being, to the rest of the workforce ensuring smooth operations, and finally to all mothers ensuring every care to keep the family healthy. Thank You Daily Heroes has been launched to recognize such frontline staff Britannia and Dole as the campaign to empower communities and people to recognize and continue to help all our frontline soldiers who are now working ever harder to ensure that we get back to the new standard with full security.
The movement used social media to inspire UAE people to adapt and work together and make a difference by following health guidelines and taking the utmost care, keeping social space, using face masks, skipping meetings, and most importantly, making an extra effort to remain safe as the battle is not over yet. More than 50,000 frontline medical personnel, sanitation workers, delivery boys, RTA employees, nurses and volunteers received customized care packs from Britannia and Dole for their excellent service in battling the spread of COVID-19 as part of the initiative.
This was undertaken in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, the Food Bank of the UAE, Seha and other government and private institutions. Annu Gupta, CEO of International Business, Britannia Industries Ltd said, “I am sure everyone has experienced the generosity of our heroes and are appreciative of them. While each of us has tried, in our small or big way, to express our gratitude, the fight for them is not yet over.”
Now that something has opened up and society is seeking to return to a new standard, the work of these unsung heroes has not diminished, contrary to the common notion. It has only been more extreme if anything when they seek to make sure we have a ‘healthy’ normal. This campaign is nothing but a way of honoring their continued efforts and sharing the word that while life is coming back for all of us, their journey is still on.
