Flights to India from the UAE are in high demand, with tickets ranging from Dh300 to Dh600, but shipment flights are proving difficult. Other important markets, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, are in the same boat. “Demand for travel between the UAE and key labor markets like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh is still on a razor’s edge,” said Saj Ahmad, Chief Analyst at StrategicAero Research. Flights from India are also prohibited in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Hundreds of Indian nationals with valid Saudi and Kuwaiti visas attempted to travel to their destinations via the UAE as a result of this.

After being stuck in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for several days, the Indian embassy and consulate released an advisory urging its people to return home. According to the statement, “due to COVID-related restrictions on incoming passengers, it is currently not possible for Indian nationals to transit through Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.”
