Dubai will soon be host to the world’s biggest ferris wheel, with a whopping 250m tall (820ft) towering over the city. The Ain Dubai has become the Emirati City’s newest glittering tourist destination, and is expected to open its doors in 2021 to thrill-seekers.

While international travel is still minimal, potential passengers on the Ferris wheel can expect spectacular, 360-degree views of the popular skyline of Dubai. The giant wheel is about twice the height of the London Eye, its UK equivalent, which is 135m or 440ft tall.

Around 1,400 passengers will be seated in the structure, more than twice the 800 that the London Eye can accommodate (SWNS). It also tips the scales at 25% higher than the Eiffel Tower — weighing 9,000 tonnes, opposed to 7,300 tonnes for the French attraction.

There are 48 capsules in Ain Dubai, or the Dubai Eye, with a total seating capacity of 1,400 people, about twice that of the London Eye, which can seat 800 people.

A private bar will also have six additional VIP capsules, with the capacity for fine dining for up to 40 guests.

The Ain Dubai — accessible from the famous, bustling Dubai Marina — is situated on Dubai’s new Bluewaters Island.

“The UAE holding company Meeras, responsible for the construction of Ain Dubai, said The structure is over 200 percent taller than the first ever Ferris wheel, standing at over 250 meters high.
