Dubai to Sharjah Bus Routes! Traveling is easy as 1, 2, 3!
Heads up, commuters: A new Metro link bus (F81) will start flying from Al Qusais Industrial Area to Al Nahda Metro Station on Sunday 25 October. And a new Dubai-Sharjah bus lane will be opened on the same day, cutting travel time by 15 minutes between the two emirates. Other improvements to the bus route will also be made from the same date, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai recently reported.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Growth at the Public Transport Agency of the RTA, said that the new Metro connect bus service (F81) from Al Qusais would be available every 15 minutes during peak hours. The RTA will also open a dedicated bus lane between the Union Metro Station in Dubai and Al Jubail Station in Sharjah on the Al Khan and Mamzar Road (E303) connections, which will decrease the bus travel time between the two emirates by roughly 15 minutes at peak times.
For this new route, ten double-deck buses will also be deployed. Starting on Sunday, some other bus routes will be changed and strengthened. Route 77, for example, will be expanded via the Emirates Metro Station to the head office of the RTA. “Route C19 will be scrapped and the operation timing of Routes X94, X02, DPR1, 367, 97, 64A and 7 will be changed,” Shakri explained.
The Director of Planning and Business Growth affirmed the determination of the RTA to extend the city’s public bus network and strengthen its connectivity with other modes of mass transportation, such as the Subway, tram and water transport. He emphasized that it would be an ideal mobility choice in the Emirate due to a well-connected and accessible public transport network.
