Covid-19: UAE’s Updated Travel Guidelines for Additional Safety!
The United Arab Emirates updates their travel guidelines and safety precautionary measures from time to time to ensure that all its residents will be safe and secured. Additional safety for everyone means additional responsibility as well from all residents. The UAE is still advising everyone to follow the guidelines such as wearing face mask, social distancing, washing hands, applying disinfectants and avoiding crowded places.
The Abu Dhabi Committee for the COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency, Catastrophe and Disasters has explained the recommendations for quarantine for foreign travelers returning to Abu Dhabi. The following protocols will apply to passengers arriving at the UAE from Abu Dhabi: undertake a COVID-19 PCR exam. Register under the quarantine system and receive, at the border or entry point, an electronic tracking wristband. In self-quarantine, the electronic wristband has to be worn for 14 days. A PCR evaluation will be carried out on Day 12. The wristband will be replaced on Day 14 if a negative COVID-19 result is obtained. In the other side, passengers arriving in the UAE from other emirates, and then flying to Abu Dhabi, would be subject to other procedures. They have to: undergo a PCR exam for COVID-19 at the Abu Dhabi border if they have spent fewer than 14 days in another emirate since landing in the UAE. Register under the quarantine system and receive, at the border or entry point, an electronic tracking wristband. They can subtract the amount of days spent in other emirates from the mandatory self-quarantine period after they arrive in the UAE. If you spend two days in another emirate, for instance, then you just have to spend 12 days in self-quarantine in Abu Dhabi. A PCR evaluation will be carried out on Day 12. The wristband will be replaced on Day 14 if a negative COVID-19 result is obtained. If, after landing in the UAE, they spent more than 14 days in another emirate, they: do not need to quarantine while moving to Abu Dhabi. Passengers are permitted to reach Abu Dhabi via authorised border procedures and after the tests needed. As previously announced, this means they must apply a negative 48-hour PCR or DPI test at the Abu Dhabi border, then undergo a PCR test on the sixth consecutive day of stay in Abu Dhabi.
In no time, this pandemic will end and we can go back to our normal lives once again.
