Ajman: Thumbay University Hospital’s First Anniversary!
The largest private academic hospital founded by the Thumbay Company, Thumbay University HospitalAjman, marked its first anniversary. “Referring to the first year of operations of the hospital, Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founding president of the Thumbay Group, said When Ajman Hospital was founded at Thumbay University, it was primarily for the students of Gulf Medical University, Ajman, to provide appropriate training facilities. However it stands today as one of the best hospitals in the UAE and a popular destination for medical tourism in the country.
The academic hospital, which was opened on December 9 last year is part of the Gulf Medical University Academic Health System (GMUAHS), the region’s first private academic health system, and offers clinical training to Gulf Medical University students (GMU). In its pursuit of excellence in healthcare, medical education and science, Thumbay Medicity in Ajman, which comprises three hospitals and a university, has passed yet another milestone.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice-president of the Healthcare Division of the Thumbay Company, said:’ Today, only a year after its inception, the university hospital has become a leading clinical training facility for GMU students at the same time being the biggest and most prominent hospital within the Thumbay Group’s healthcare division. A dedicated 100-bed long-term care and recovery unit, 10 advanced surgical suites for all major specialties, imaging center, cath lab, ICU/CCU/NICU/PICU, 10-bed dialysis unit, and more are available at Thumbay University Hospital.
There are now 10 pregnancy and birth rooms in the building. With a thank you note from its chief guest, Dr Thumbay Moideen, the hospital celebrated its anniversary. Among those present were Akbar Moideen Thumbay, GMU Chancellor Professor Hossam Hamdy, and Manveer Singh Walia. Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Fozi Dakilah, Medical Director; and Nancy Mendonca, Chief Nursing Officer of Ajman Hospital of Thumbay University, as well as other members of the management team and hospital personnel of the hospital.
