Abu Dhabi has launched the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) Technology Innovation Institute, a dedicated applied research pillar dedicated to improving the role of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global center for innovation and advanced technologies.

The goal of the institute is to provide science of discovery and revolutionary technologies with a global effect. In its seven initial dedicated research centres, each of which has world-class research facilities, it is increasingly breaking new ground. The Institute focuses on seven areas: quantum research, autonomous robots, cryptography, advanced materials, digital security, energy guidance and stable systems.

The institution’s unveiling follows the directives of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Advanced Technology Research Council, to create an ecosystem for the research and development activities of the Emirate that will place Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global hub for advanced technology research.

The Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, Faisal Al Bannai, said that the institute was well placed to support this strategic objective. The Institute of Technology Innovation is a groundbreaking research centre that creates innovative and revolutionary innovations that have global influence and realistic use cases.

For the benefit of research, culture, economics and the environment, the Institute enables us to drive the frontiers of understanding further than ever before.
